HISTORY

The Boys’ Brigade in Thailand or BBT in short was established in 1994 with the main objective of advancing Christ’s kingdom among Boys and Girls and the promotion of habits of Obedience, Reverence, Discipline, Self-respect and all that tends towards a true Christian character.

PRESENT

As of 2010, there are 10 Companies with a membership of 945 boys and girls. There are 60 adult officers supervise the program as volunteers on once weekly basis. The membership is organised into three (3) age group sections namely the Pre Junior Section (6-8 years), the Junior Section (9-12 years) and the Senior Section (12-19 years).

 

The National Headquarters sits on 3-storey shop-house that was acquired by The Boys’ Brigade Thailand 2 years ago. There are two (2) full time staff looking after the entire work of BBT.

FUTURE

Recognition
BBT endeavours to extend and promote the The Boys’ Brigade brand at the national level so that it can be accepted not only in the churches but also in schools throughout country.

SPECIAL HIGHLIGHTS & ACHIEVEMENTS

The 3 days 2 nights National The Boys’ Brigade Camp is known as “Camp Sawasdee” and it is organised every 5 years for Boys and Girls. Among the main activities of the camp are drill and sports competition and outdoor adventure. “Sawasdee” means greetings in Thai language.

 

The Annual Officers Retreat (AOR) is held annually for all officers and helpers. Feedback and on issues and concerns are brought up for discussion and subsequently resolved so that the movement can move forward in unity and strength.

 

Leadership training courses are also held annually for volunteer adults and students in order to enhance their skills and knowledge in leading the movement.

 

The newly acquired 3-Storey shop-house The Boys’ Brigade Thailand HQ was dedicated on 2 March 2012.
